Based in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales, Oz Mulch Pty Limited complements the established operations of our parent company Oz Mulching Pty Limited in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie Local Government Areas.
Oz Mulch is committed to maximising the recycling of green organics material in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie regions with a continuing relationship with both councils through the processing and composting of green organics delivered to local waste management centres.
Oz Mulch receives all raw materials from Oz Mulching, who holds contracts for the grinding of green organics and timber residues, and further processes these materials by composting to Australian Standards 4454. This process of intense decomposition over time produces a high quality compost product suitable to use as a soil improver or for use as a component of a number of soil blends specifically produced to conform to Australian Standards 4419. It also produces a range of mulch products suitable for various applications including landscaping, land rehabilitation, bush regeneration and in agriculture.

Oz Mulch is firmly committed to reducing the organic waste stream being disposed of in tips through the composting of such materials and is equally as passionate about returning this high value end product to the local communities to improve soils through the addition of organic matter. By using products that contain compost you recycle valuable nutrients and reduce the impact of organics going to landfill.
Organic matter has the potential to improve soils in a number of ways that will be advantageous to plant growth. Organic Matter can improve the structure of a soil increasing the capacity of the soil to retain water (important in times of drought) and nutrients. Organic Matter also increases the microbial biomass in the soils (amounts of bacteria, fungi and other microbes) which contribute to plant growth through increasing the amount of nutrients available to plants and helping in disease suppression around the root system of the plant. Organic Matter is a highly valuable component of soils often underrated, however using the right combination of Organic Matter and fertiliser will result in a healthy flourishing garden.
